    Pre Tests are essential preperation for a successful Test Day

    Pre-tests are crucially important to help learner drivers successfully pass the driving test, pre-tests give you the opportunity to revisit the knowledge and skills required to pass the test, it also gives you the confidence and belief in your own ability.     This is a quick chat and recap of your skills, knowledge to date just to give us a benchmark of how best to tailor the pre test training, after this we go on a quick drive to asess further.

    Recap step by step how the test day is structured.

    Practise on all the manouvres you are likely to perform on the driving test, Reverse around the corner, Turn in the road, Hill start

    We practise on the test route area, going through the different routes you may do your test on.

    As part of the driving test you will be asked some technical checks, we go through this so you are fully prepared.

    We go through the marking sheet fully so you understand how you might be marked on the test and how to reduce these faults.

    We analyze your faults and give you solutions to fix these faults.

    A final check of all pre test material covered.

    Common driving faults

    • *Poor observation at junctions, not making effective observation turning left and right at junctions.
    • *Incorrect road positiong is a common fault, this could be in the wrong lane for a turn or staying in the right lane for too long.
    • *Moving off safely is essential for safe driving and is a common fault in the driving test.
    • *Correct mirror use is essential for safe driving, learners fail to use mirrors correctly, timely and in conjunction with blind spots.
    • *Vechicle control while moving off, learners fail test due to poor vechicle control while moving off.
    • *Traffic light response, incorrect judgement of traffic lights, failing to understand light sequence, anticipation.
    • *Poor reaction to hazzards, awareness and anticipation of hazzards.
    • *Not positioning the car correctly at roundabouts.
    • *Speed to fast, not obeying speed limits and also going too slow therefore not making progress.
    • *Incorrect signal or incorrect signakl timing.
    • *Hesitation, undue hesitation and failing to progress due to lack of awareness, vechicle control.
    • *Confusion at junctions, unable to recognise different types of junctions.
    • *Wrong positioning turning right or left
    • *Coasting and failing to maintain control of car.
